One of the Best Hotels In Monterey

Fabulous suite with an ocean view. It was wonderful to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean. Hotel staff is very friendly and attentive.

My husband and I booked the Spindrift Inn for our 25th Anniversary. A couple days before our intended stay, my husband went into the hospital, and I needed to postpone. The staff were very accommodating, and understanding. When we were able to stay a couple weeks later, it was a wonderful experience. A bottle of wine, and chocolates with a note welcoming us left on the coffee table. Very friendly staff. Yes, it’s a little older, and the furniture could use some refreshing/updating, but everything was clean and comfortable. Others pointed out that breakfast ran a little late, but, it was indicated on the form that could happen if others requested the same time spot, so we had absolutely no issues with that. It was a wonderful breakfast brought directly to our room to enjoy in front of our amazing view. We will happily return. Edit: We again (really for the 3rd time) stayed at the Spindrift Inn, 2.5 years later. We still have only glowing reviews of the staff and location. And, yes, the updates to the rooms are wonderful. Thank you for a wonderful pre-Christmas get away.

The location is fantastic, but you should only stay here if you are able to get one of the rooms that overlooks the water. Watching the sea lions frolicking in the surf is a delight! The continental breakfast is basic, but the coffee was good. The staff was very polite and helpful. Parking is valet. There are lots of very good restaurants nearby. I would stay here again.

Lovely hotel right on the ocean. Wine and cheese comp happy hour. Free breakfast delivered to your room. Fresh rose in the room. Very clean. Cozy chairs and fireplace in front of the TV. Special place.

We love The Spindrift. It has been thirteen years since we stayed last, and it did not disappoint! The staff are amazing, it is clean, the room was great. I can't wait to go again!

Magical Experience, Corner Suite top floor

Loved it! This is a sweet, quaint, romantic little inn right on a central beach in the middle of Cannery Row. From the valet service at the front curb, to the welcoming front desk and throughout our four day stay the staff was very pleasant, friendly, attentive and helpful in every interaction. Everything on Cannery Row is within easy walking distance from the inn, so you'll only need your car if you're venturing up or down the coast. Only a few blocks from Monterey Bay Aquarium, which is a must see if you've never been. When you're tired and need a respite from all the hustle and bustle of so many shops, businesses and restaurants surrounding the inn, it's easy to go back to the welcoming peace and quiet of the inn and your lovely room for a rest. Everyday our stay was made sweeter by complimentary wine and cheese, crackers and olives in the lobby from 4:30-6:00pm. The room itself was simply romantic and cozy. The bay window literally opens above the bay! We watched sea otters and sea lions yards away all day long. The beach is at your door step below and while public, it wasn't ever crowded or noisy during our stay. We loved listening to the surf and distant callings in the night. The room has a fireplace and at the flick of a switch, no need to dirty your hands, the flames come to life; both gently warming the space and creating a couples paradise. The bed was large and comfortable, with ample pillows. Two parlor sitting chairs in front of the flat screen TV and fireplace as well. Our complimentary breakfast was delivered to our room at our specified time of choice each day. So our days all started with fresh fruit and pastries, hot coffee and our choice of yogurt, cereal, eggs, etc. The nook and table were close to the window for watching the ocean and it's inhabitants start their day with us. The perfect fresh rose on the table adds a touch of grace. There's a small refrigerator and a Keurig coffee maker, coffee cups and wine glasses. No microwave, but we didn't miss it. A small bath tub in a nice bathroom with a large vanity. A wardrobe for your clothes and other clutter to be out of your way. An in room safe as well. We found this place to be very quiet, lovely, romantic and welcoming every minute of our stay and will be happy to become regular guests when we're out at the coast! The exceptional staff makes it an exceptional choice!!!
