One of the Best Hotels In Monterey

Though I'm a California native, this is the first time I've been to Monterey. I went to visit a friend who lives there. I don't get away often so I LOVE to treat myself to a nice hotel and a room with an ocean view when possible is always a must! When I saw photos of the ocean view rooms at the Spindrift Inn, I knew I had to book. And the hotel, the service, and the rooms did not disappoint. Though Cannery Row was packed when I arrived (late on a Saturday afternoon) I was able to park right in front of the hotel to check in, and the valet took my car away. The person who checked me in was friendly and kind, and even offered me a glass of wine as I checked in during their nightly wine and cheese reception(!) The room ... it looked just like the picture, and it was beautiful! A huge window seat that overlooked the water, a sitting area with a fireplace, and a beautifully appointed bed. It was a larger than average room with a nice size bathroom (I always want a nice bathroom), and a plus was a full length mirror in the wardrobe closet. Fill out the continental breakfast menu and hang it on your door in time the evening before, and your breakfast is brought up to you in the morning on a silver tray. I sat in my window seat, munching on a croissant and coffee, while finishing some work, and it didn't feel like work at that moment. My stay at the Spindrift Inn couldn't have been better, and I plan to stay there whenever I make my way up to Monterey -- it is a gem on Cannery Row!

I gave this hotel a five star rating based on the Hotel staff and our room experience. The Hotel was rebuilt in the 1980's but has been well maintained. Some of the bathroom fixtures, mainly faucets are showing there age. The room was extremely comfortable and the view was truly wonderful. We had a corner room on the 4th floor. The noise level was very quite. The bed was a pleasure to sleep in. Continental breakfast was served every mourning in our room, which had a small table perfect for two people. We enjoyed the room so much that we spent quite of bit of time just relaxing in our room. Car parking was taken care of by the valets. Also, we used the gas fireplace to remove the morning chill, from the ocean air coming through the window opening we would leave opened during the night, while we ate our breakfast. We will most definitely be returning for future stays at Spindrift Inn.

We’ve spent our 46th and 47th anniversary at Spindrift and the staff there have been outstanding! The young men who stand out front and park and go get our car are always smiling and making everyone feel welcome. The ladies at the front desk are outstanding at customer service and welcoming all the guests! The ladies who bring up breakfast and clean the rooms are hardworking and caring. We love celebrating our special day at Spindrift and plan on making it a tradition every year. Thank you all for making our anniversary special!!

Perfect location for visiting Monterey’s magnificent aquarium; welcoming sunrise over the ocean; fireplace in the room. Nice continental breakfast in the room. Nothing to dislike!!

The room was beautifully decorated. I loved breakfast being delivered to our room. The happy hour wine, cheese, & crackers were a nice touch. The hotel was walking distance to restaurants, shops, and the aquarium.

I almost don’t want to write a review because I want to keep this place all to myself! The view from our room was breathtaking. The room itself had a dedicated seating area facing the ocean with large windows. The bed was a little challenging as it’s a lot higher than I expected. The hotel is older, but the charm and cleanliness make it a must stay. The staff were helpful whenever we needed something. When we come back, we will definitely choose to stay at the Spindrift again.

Our room had an awesome ocean view, and if you opened the windows, you could hear the ocean. The in-room breakfast was perfect, with a variety of fresh, tasty food that you could enjoy with a perfect view. The location was perfect. The room was clean and big. The wine and cheese were a very good addition.Just for you to know no air-conditioning, but if you open the windows you dont need it.
