One of the Best Hotels In Monterey

We had a corner room on the 4th floor and it was fantastic. The view over the bay and watching all the activity in the bay from animals to humans was wonderful. Location was the best.

Room was clean and comfortable and we especially loved the window seat and fireplace. The staff was friendly and the in room breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese were nice extras. Proximity to the aquarium was so convenient.

Wonderful hotel in an excellent location! We wanted a last minute getaway to Monterey and we're so glad to have booked at Spindrift! Located on Cannery Road, the hotel is directly on the beach. It is within walking distance to multiple restaurants and the famous aquarium. Parking is only available via valet parking, which costs $42 per day. When we arrived, the wine and cheese hour was on. We were checked in quickly and we got upgraded to a room with a built in sauna. Our bill for 2 nights was around $750 with parking included. Our room was on the second floor, and it was directly facing Cannery Road. We had a balcony and it was nice to people watch during the day. In the evening, we didn't hear any noise from the street. We had a room with king sized bed and a fire place. The bathroom is nice with a shower and a built in sauna. Continental breakfast is available every morning, and it comes with hard boiled egg, cereal, fruits, yogurt, pastry, and beverages. Overall, we have really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The location is unbeatable and the hotel stay feels special with the wonderful ambiance from a boutique hotel. Highly recommend!

Though I'm a California native, this is the first time I've been to Monterey. I went to visit a friend who lives there. I don't get away often so I LOVE to treat myself to a nice hotel and a room with an ocean view when possible is always a must! When I saw photos of the ocean view rooms at the Spindrift Inn, I knew I had to book. And the hotel, the service, and the rooms did not disappoint. Though Cannery Row was packed when I arrived (late on a Saturday afternoon) I was able to park right in front of the hotel to check in, and the valet took my car away. The person who checked me in was friendly and kind, and even offered me a glass of wine as I checked in during their nightly wine and cheese reception(!) The room ... it looked just like the picture, and it was beautiful! A huge window seat that overlooked the water, a sitting area with a fireplace, and a beautifully appointed bed. It was a larger than average room with a nice size bathroom (I always want a nice bathroom), and a plus was a full length mirror in the wardrobe closet. Fill out the continental breakfast menu and hang it on your door in time the evening before, and your breakfast is brought up to you in the morning on a silver tray. I sat in my window seat, munching on a croissant and coffee, while finishing some work, and it didn't feel like work at that moment. My stay at the Spindrift Inn couldn't have been better, and I plan to stay there whenever I make my way up to Monterey -- it is a gem on Cannery Row!

I gave this hotel a five star rating based on the Hotel staff and our room experience. The Hotel was rebuilt in the 1980's but has been well maintained. Some of the bathroom fixtures, mainly faucets are showing there age. The room was extremely comfortable and the view was truly wonderful. We had a corner room on the 4th floor. The noise level was very quite. The bed was a pleasure to sleep in. Continental breakfast was served every mourning in our room, which had a small table perfect for two people. We enjoyed the room so much that we spent quite of bit of time just relaxing in our room. Car parking was taken care of by the valets. Also, we used the gas fireplace to remove the morning chill, from the ocean air coming through the window opening we would leave opened during the night, while we ate our breakfast. We will most definitely be returning for future stays at Spindrift Inn.
