One of the Best Hotels In Monterey

A luxurious inn in Monterey. As we checked in, they were preparing a wine and cheese reception for guests from 4 – 6 PM. We took our wine to the rooftop terrace that overlooked Monterey Bay. We stayed in an ocean view corner room. Sitting on the cushioned window seats and using the binoculars in the room, we watched the otters and herring gulls in the bay. The room was comfortable with a log fireplace, two lounging chairs and luxuriant robes. When I called to add a second room, as we travelled with our son and daughter-in-law, I was asked if we were celebrating anything special. Our son and his wife had recently married, so when they arrived in their room they were greeted with champagne and chocolates. I felt that was an extremely thoughtful gesture. A continental breakfast was delivered to our room the next morning. It was relaxing to eat and look out over the bay. One reason I chose the Spindrift Inn was its location in Cannery Row which we toured the evening before. Spindrift was our daughter-in-law’s favorite of all the places we stayed during our trip from Los Angeles to San Francisco. We would definitely stay there again and perhaps longer if we are in the area.

So happy a friend recommended this great inn. We had a beautiful room overlooking a small quiet beach. Opened to listen to the water and gulls. A nice fireplace that we used, the evenings are quite cool even in August. The rooms are filled with antiques and charming small touches that made everything extremely comfortable. Easy walk to most of Monterey's attractions and easy parking when we left to explore more of the area. Highly recommend!

This place was amazing. The views from the windows are gorgeous. The room itself was beautiful. We had a nice simple breakfast delivered to our room each morning, along with an actual newspaper. We enjoyed eating right in front of the fireplace our room. But nothing compared to the view. We were right at the water's edge. I would love to spend an entire week here.

This place is amazing. Its right in the heart of the Canary row. When we arrived we were greeted by the reception and they were super nice. The lobby is roomy and very beautiful. Sooo...off to our room... it was super cozy with a fireplace that actually works and day window sitting ...ooook... so for the price you pay i'm was happy with what we had so far...BUT.... they razzled dazzled us with a turn-down service and continental breakfast delivered to our room at a time we requested!!!! whaaattt??!!!. This place roooocks!! you get soo much for your money....oooh did i mention they have wine and cheese for happy hour... don't think twice about staying here!!

Our favorite hotel, period. Super cute and unique. Staff are amazing and accommodating. Location is perfect and walking distance to everything. Not a bad room in the place with amazing views. Great place to spend a special occasion, a getaway weekend, or a full vacation. We just keep coming back to Spindrift.

Elegant hotel with wonderful and helpful staff! Well appointed room with terrific views of the ocean. Walk to Aquarium and dinner. Can't wait to return. Staying right in Cannery Row is a wonderful mix of old and new resting on the shore.

We went here for a romantic getaway, and were so pleased. The place looks fine when you enter, but the room was magnificent. Gorgeous fabrics, tasteful details, a very romantic atmosphere. They have free wine and nibbles every evening in the reception area, where you can sit quietly, or mingle with the other guests. It is just a block walk to the aquarium and is set with beautiful views of the bay. Close to everything, yet feels very private. Staff were great. Had fun watching the seagulls and ocean critters.

We reserved an oceanfront room. The view was spectacular! We could hear every wave, the seagull, smell the ocean and watch the activity on the water. My husband is on the last days on his journey of life. I notified the hotel of his visual and hearing impairments, along with the fact that he cannot walk on the beach therefore we wanted to be as close to that as possible. When we arrived, not only did they decorate the room with rose petals, balloons and sparkling cider, but a pair of binoculars for my husband to see through! The breakfast was included and nicly done. This saves you from having to go anywhere for coffee after waking up. There are breads, boiled eggs, fruits and cereal to have as well. The ADA room had a large seat that lowered from the shower wall, and a special mobil hand held shower head at seated level. I could go on and on, however I'd never do enough justice. Rosie decorated our room and happily brought our breakfast each day. She was so thoughtful. Stephanie, front desk manager, found out we'd ordered coffee from room service one afternoon and decided to brew us a pot herself and bring it up. That saved us the cost of the room service, but also showed a kindness that cannot be faked. Everyone was very friendly and made sure to say hello, goodbye or how was your outing. We felt like family. Thank you to all.

Lovely hotel in a very good location. Rooms are very well furnished and comfortable. Breakfast is brought to your room every morning, beautifully laid out on a silver tray. Our room had a balcony overlooking Cannery Row and we could sit there to eat breakfast. The hotel has a wine and cheese reception every afternoon which is a good time to talk with other guests. Everything was really excellent
