One of the Best Hotels In Monterey

My significant other and I spent a night in Monterey to celebrate a special occasion. The staff is very welcoming, the room was clean, the location is perfect. Proximity to plenty of restaurants, bars, the beach, the aquarium was a couple minute walk away. They have a wine hour in the lobby in the evening. They brought breakfast directly to our room in the morning. Any question we had was answered with a smile. I’m very satisfied with our stay, we plan on staying at the Spindrift Inn for our future trips in Monterey.

We paid a bit more to book a suite with an ocean view for my wife's birthday. The room was beautiful and spotless. We had the windows open during our entire stay. It was so amazing lying in bed, watching the waves and sleeping to the live ocean sounds—it was unforgettable. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us from the moment we arrived in our VinFast VF8 in the dark evening. We were greeted with champagne and snacks. We loved the continental breakfast delivered to our room. It was also a very nice touch for the management to give us a bottle of wine with a sweet note for our celebration.

My wife and I stayed here recently for our anniversary trip, and we both thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Staff were friendly and extremely welcoming. Room service was the best out of any hotel I’ve stayed at. Rooms were clean each afternoon, and cleaned very well. Cannery row is a very convenient location, and we enjoyed the food and things to do in the area. Would highly recommend staying here!

Oceanside room was really great, fun spot on the coast

If you’ve looked at this hotel more than once and thought about booking it, stop hesitating and book it. The location is breathtaking. Spring for one of the ocean view rooms. You will not regret it. This hotel makes hanging out in the room feel like a luxury. The room has a unique charm that breaks the status quo of modern, cookie-cutter hotel rooms. I’ve seen reviews where people call the curtains “oppressive,” and after staying here, I believe those people simply can’t see character. Everything was meticulously cleaned, and coming back to the room felt like home. The only thing that could be improved was the continental breakfast. It is pretty basic, and the pastries were far from fresh-baked. But hey, there are so many amazing breakfast spots in Monterey that you can enjoy the coffee and head out in the morning. We saw seals, sea lions, otters, and whales from our room. Bring a pair of binoculars. You won’t regret it!

Hotel was immaculate! Service was top tier. Told them it was for our 9year anniversary they sent a bottle of wine to our room for free and sent some yummy chocolates and a card with it. They have a cheese and wine mixer at 4:30pm. Their breakfast was simple cereal, hard boiled egg, yogurt, coffee, milk, orange juice, and two small pastries. They allowed us to keep our car with the valet even after we checked out so we didn’t need to pay for parking at the garage while we explored cannery row. You could order room service from the Mexican restaurant downstairs. The location was phenomenal right in the middle of of cannery row.

My wife and I spent the last two nights of our honeymoon at the Spindrift Inn, and we were absolutely blown away by the experience. When we arrived, the staff informed us that they had upgraded our room. Look at the photos of the hotel - this is exactly what it looks like, yet the photos somehow don't do it justice - our room was STUNNING. When we walked in, we found a chilled bottle of champagne waiting for us on a table next to an unbelievable view of the Pacific Ocean. They had also placed a hand-written note next to the champagne congratulating us on our marriage and wishing us a wonderful honeymoon. I had mentioned when booking that we were celebrating our honeymoon, but I never expected such thoughtful touches. We literally didn't leave the room for the next two hours. We just sat together on the window seat, sipping champagne, watching the ocean just outside our window while the fireplace crackled beside us. It felt unreal. My wife actually cried when she saw the room because she was so happy and overcome — and, frankly, that’s about the only kind of crying a husband ever wants to cause. For a man who isn't a natural planner, those tears were perfect on so many levels. Yes, this is a pricey place, but it was absolutely worth it. Everything exceeded our expectations. The staff wasn’t just professional and competent; they were genuinely warm, helpful, and friendly throughout our stay. If you're looking for a romantic getaway or celebrating something special, I cannot recommend the Spindrift Inn enough, and if anyone from the Spindrift Inn is reading this review, please let me take one more opportunity to offer a genuine THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. My husband and I stayed at the Spindrift hotel in Monterey to celebrate my birthday in April. Upon arrival we were greeted by the most wonderful staff. Diana from reception and Alex from valet took such wonderful care of us from check in to check out. The room was quite honestly breathtaking.. the views were like no other. We also loved the very special touch of the Wine and Cheese reception every day from 4:30pm- 6:00pm The location and views of the hotel, the charm and cleanliness, and as mentioned the helpfulness and personal touch of the staff made our stay truly special. My family and I stayed for 2 nights for my birthday and this was by far the best hotel experience we've ever had. The staff was so friendly and attentive and the views were out of this world. We had our own beach area right next to our room which was heavenly. Will be staying again.

Was a lot of kids this time. Usually quiet but was lots of kids, got better on Monday
