One of the Best Hotels In Monterey

The Spindrift Inn was absolutely lovely. Our 3rd floor corner room, with wood-burning fireplace, expansive windows on two sides and feather bed, was beautiful and cozy, the in-room continental breakfast was excellent, the staff professional and courteous, and the location unbeatable. The 3-star rating really does not do the Spindrift Inn justice. We loved it.

My wife and I had two days and one night to spend in the Monterey area. I did my usual due diligence on TripAdvisor and decided that we would stay at the Spindrift Inn. From the moment we arrived, we knew we had made the right choice. The valet was there waiting for us when we pulled up in our car. He was very pleasant and helpful and directed us into the main entrance. The lobby was a good size and was very comfortable. We approached the main desk ( and it is a desk) and were warmly greeted. It took several minutes to check in and then we were guided to the elevator to up to the third floor. We entered our room and immediately felt right at home.

My wife and I just completed a 2,000 miles road trip in California to celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary. Our trip covered San Diego, 2 national parks, Monterey Peninsula, Santa Barbara, Laguna Beach and back to San Diego. The Spindrift Inn was our most enjoyable accommodation. We were hoping for a cross between a luxury hotel and bed and breakfast. That's exactly what we experienced! In addition, we treated ourselves to ocean-front room. It was on the 3rd floor so we slept with the windows opened the two nights we stayed here. It's amazing to be lulled to sleep listening to the splashing of the waves. There is also a small alcove where you can sit or even slumber with a blanket wrapped around you to warm up from the fresh ocean wind. Real natural wood is provided to light up your in-room fireplace.

Nice small hotel, very cozy, with beautiful view, service is quite good, steps away from the beach and just 5 minutes away from the Monterey aquarium, I love the fireplace in the room, but toomuch smoke...

If I could give this hotel 6 stars I would. It was the most delightful hotel experience I have ever had! First the location is perfect. It is right on the water on Cannery Row. There is a courtyard next to the hotel with a fountain and benches with a view of the ocean that is to die for. You can also go down to the beach. We found shells and sea glass. You might even spot an otter. But back to the hotel. We were greeted by the happiest valet I have ever met. We were check in promptly and headed to our room. Our room was so quaint. There was a fireplace and we had a cannery row view. It was plenty of room for the two of us and also had a keurig in the room. Every morning you have your breakfast delivered to your room by a super friendly staff. It was very nice to eat breakfast by the fire and relax. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone. Worth every penny. The staff was by far the friendliest I have ever met and they bend over backwards to accommodate you. It is seriously the best hotel I have ever been to. We loved it!

When I was looking at hotels to stay at, I was looking for oceanfront and in the heart of Cannery Row. This hotel does not disappoint!! From the moment we pulled up, we were made a priority. The valet attendant (I'm horrible with names, sorry!!) greeted us with a smile and showed us to the front desk. Given the fact that we were only there overnight, I had called a few days prior to ask about early check-in. I had been told it wouldn't be a problem as long as rooms were available. I can say that not only was I happy that my oceanfront room was available BUT that they had upgraded us to a corner room!! What an awesome surprise!! We were taken to our room and shown all the little details of the room. But the view...the view was stunning!! To be able to open the windows, feel the ocean breeze, hear the lull of the waves....amazing!!!! The beds are so comfortable, we slept great. Breakfast the next morning was delivered and we enjoyed drinking our coffee at the window seat while watching seals and birds play. I can't say enough about this hotel and the staff. We will definitely be back and for longer than one night, we didn't want to leave!!!

My Husband I were on our Honeymoon and was looking for a hotel near Cannery Row and Fisherman's Wharf.. When this Gold Award caught my attention and the rating was near a 5 I knew this is where We wanted to stay, the Vallet Men were awsome, and very welcoming..As we checked Inn, the Gentleman upgraded to a corner suite, to my delight it was fabulous, and I felt like I was in heaven...If i could give them more than a 5 start rating I would....not only did they have our business for those 2 days but in the future as well...not only did we make new friends but we made family!!!! Thank you from our hearts! <3

Our first trip to Monterey and we were very impressed. I'm so glad the Spindrift Inn had a room available for us at the last minute. The staff was very hospitable, the location was perfect- right on Cannery Row and right on the water. We went on the roof top every afternoon and enjoyed the complimentary wine and cheese. The room was beautiful and perfect for our anniversary trip. The fireplace and dry sauna in the room and bathroom was a neat bonus. I would highly recommend this hotel for any couples looking for a romantic getaway!!

We stayed for 2 nights in Monterey, and they could not have been better. Our third floor room overlooked the bay. It was fun to watch the seals in the morning. The inn provides binoculars to animal watch. The fireplace was also a nice amenity and adds to the romance of the whole experience. The room was very comfortable, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It was nice that the continental breakfast was delivered to the room each morning so that we could leisurely get ready and have breakfast. We would not hesitate to stay at the Spindrift again.

The hotel is in a very nice location up the road from the Monterey Aquarium. Its location is walking distance from loads of shops. Nice rooftop to take your drink up for a sea view. It was very comfortable - we would definitely stay again.
