One of the Best Hotels In Monterey

Somehow my reservation went through twice. I didn't realize this until we checked in. Multiple people on their staff went above and beyond to help me only get charged once, despite there already being two pending charges on my credit card. Plus, their cancellation policy is 72 hours. But they saw what happened and quickly made sure that I was taken care of. On top of that, the view was amazing. The room was awesome and I can't wait to go back.

My husband and I booked the Spindrift Inn for our 25th Anniversary. A couple days before our intended stay, my husband went into the hospital, and I needed to postpone. The staff were very accommodating, and understanding. When we were able to stay a couple weeks later, it was a wonderful experience. A bottle of wine, and chocolates with a note welcoming us left on the coffee table. Very friendly staff. Yes, it’s a little older, and the furniture could use some refreshing/updating, but everything was clean and comfortable. Others pointed out that breakfast ran a little late, but, it was indicated on the form that could happen if others requested the same time spot, so we had absolutely no issues with that. It was a wonderful breakfast brought directly to our room to enjoy in front of our amazing view. We will happily return. Edit: We again (really for the 3rd time) stayed at the Spindrift Inn, 2.5 years later. We still have only glowing reviews of the staff and location. And, yes, the updates to the rooms are wonderful. Thank you for a wonderful pre-Christmas get away.

The location is fantastic, but you should only stay here if you are able to get one of the rooms that overlooks the water. Watching the sea lions frolicking in the surf is a delight! The continental breakfast is basic, but the coffee was good. The staff was very polite and helpful. Parking is valet. There are lots of very good restaurants nearby. I would stay here again.

Polite staff, continental BF in the room, complimentary wine and assorted cheese n biscuits. Close to the Aquarium. Nice place.

Lovely hotel right on the ocean. Wine and cheese comp happy hour. Free breakfast delivered to your room. Fresh rose in the room. Very clean. Cozy chairs and fireplace in front of the TV. Special place.

Great hotel..nice rooms..quiet and EXCELLENT staff..we will be back!

Are stay there was wonderful. My wife and I really enjoyed it, the staff were very helpful, curtis and made are stay fell like at home. We recommend to stay there while your in Monterey, it's right on beach, shopping and dining. ❤👍

Really enjoy staying at the Spindrift Inn! Friendly & exceptional staff! Also they upgraded from a wood burning fireplace to gas...we LOVED it! Made using the fire place so convenient & easy. I got cold in the middle of the night & turned it on, then fell asleep...but thanks to the one touch timer, I set it for 30 minutes & it shut off on its own...worry & hassle free! It was great!

You have to be looking for things to nit-pick about this place. We had a wonderful stay in July. Being from Florida, where July is just the pre-heating for the hell that is August, the weather here was truly perfect. We sprung for an ocean view room, and it was money well spent. I spent my spare time tucked up in the window seat watching otters and birds and an occasional seal play in the little bay outside the hotel. Yes, the crowds are sometimes noisy or stinky (smoking), but in the early mornings and late evenings, it's peaceful if you don't mind sea bird noises. I loved falling asleep to the waves and birds and buoy bell, then waking to the fog shrouded sea. We loved that you could walk everywhere from here. We enjoyed the nighly free wine/cheese and in-room breakfasts. The room was excellently appointed and stayed at a perfect temperature.

Our second stay at the Spindrift. Located in the center of Cannery Row and right on the waterfront. Pictured is room 410 with a street view. The bed is super comfy. Decent wine and cheese reception in the evening and continental breakfast delivered to your room in the AM. Well worth the visit.
