One of the Best Hotels In Monterey

We stay here every year because the location is perfect. It's a short walk to Monterrey Aquarium and an easy nice stroll along a footpath to Fishermans Wharf or to 17 mile drive. Don't miss the Tuesday farmers market near the town square. Spindrift has very friendly, cheerful and professional staff. Seaview rooms are the best option, on the top floor. You can sleep with the sound of the surf below your window. The morning in-room breakfast provides big pots of excellent coffee and continental style breakfast. And an afternoon happy hour with local wine and cheese tasting. There's a roof top deck for picnics and sun. If you are in need of a room before 4pm, you may need to use one of the bigger hotels. At the Spindrift, there’s no check in available until after 4pm. Room tip- Cannery Row can get noisy on the weekends with loud custom cars and motorcycles, so get a sea view room, better in the middle, not on a corner

Our stay in Spindrift was wonderful. Staff are very friendly and warm. I love the location which is walkable and convenient to restaurants, shops, Monterey Aquarium and the beach is just at the back of the hotel! Parking is valet with a fee. So, you need to grab all of your essentials before they park it for you. My family and I would definitely come back. Also, we love the wine and cheese time which was at 1600-18300. My daughter keeps coming back at the lobby for the cheese and crackers. lol.

Nice to have a fireplace in the room. If you have Bay view, it's pretty great.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Location is great as you're close to restaurants, shopping, bars, and beach area. The front desk was also helpful and fast with bringing ice and extra water bottles to the room when asked. We also used valet and they were very fast with bringing the car when checking out. I would definitely recommend staying at here for a future stay.

It is older but don't let that fool you because it is absolutely delightful. The staff was top notch. They were friendly, helpful, delightful, and very accommodating. We loved the breakfast that was included as well as the wine and cheese hour. We can't wait to stay here again!

Very comfortable bed and room. Great location for nightlife and restaurants, walks etc.

A nice place to stay in Monterey. The staff is lovely, the room is spacious and comfortable, and there is complimentary breakfast that they bring to the room which is a nice touch. The only con is that it is very centrally located in the "touristy" area - lots of tourist shops and okay tourist restaurants. But on the plus side, it's right on the ocean and walking distance to the aquarium, as well as starbucks (sometimes touristy areas have their perks, lol). We drove to downtown Monterey where there are some better cafes and restaurants, to carmel, and to Big Sur very easily!

Cute little inn. Service was great throughout all points of our stay! Appreciated the wine reception in the lobby and the free breakfast the next morning. The outside stairs on each side of the inn led out which was great. Easy access to the tiny little part of the beach that was there. Very convenient!

Good place to spend some quiet time with the family. Nice ocean views, helpful staff.

Great place and very close to shopping and dining.
