One of the Best Hotels In Monterey

Great hotel and rooms right on Cannery Row. Will be coming back again. Right next to restaurants and scenic views.

This is the best hotel at Monterey where a room with the direct sea view won't cost you a small fortune. We keep staying at Spindrift every time we come to Monterey. The hotel building is rather old (nearly 100 years old), but it was renovated around 2010 (if I'm not mistaken), so it is fine in terms of comforts. Hotel provides you with a continental breakfast delivered to your room, but it is very very basic (though alternatives are all pretty much Mexican-style breakfasts, which are heavy on calories). They also have a daily happy hour with wine-cheese-crackers for the guests -a nice prelude to your dinner in one of very good local restaurants.

Location of the hotel is amazing. We did not have a very good experience with some of the front desk staff as they were not very helpful and willing to help.

This is a classic older hotel that has been renovated. It is quite comfortable and richly decorated. All the fixtures and equipment in the room functioned well. The room was large with a giant bathroom and windows that actually open! The fireplace in the room was great. Bedding and furniture was nice. We throughly enjoyed our short stay and considered another night. The location is on Cannery Row near Steinbeck Plaza and it is right on the water! Continental breakfast is delivered to your room at a time of your choosing is a great touch. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit. Be sure and spring for an ocean side room.
