One of the Best Hotels In Monterey

Nice property right on the bay but it's showing a lot of wear and tear. The places in need of an overhaul. I mean you can't beat The view but you need to maintain the property better if they're going to charge the rates that they charge. And $35 a night to park is really excessive

Air con doesn't work in the building at all, tiles coming away from the wall in shower, chipped paint and water takes ages to get warm even though California is in a drought seems a waste. The hotel probably needs a refurb and it would be amazing. The staff are really nice and the location perfect.

Stayed for a night this past weekend for my birthday (I was given a credit from a online hotel stay because I had booked a certain number of nights previous) so I booked at an online site in order to redeem. This was our second visit this month, as we also stayed early in the month from Saturday until Monday in the water front room. The cannery row room was spacious, we have only reserved a cannery row room 1 time previously and it was the top floor. This time the second floor room 212. I would NEVER recommend this room and here is reasoning. There is extremely loud car noise (racing of cars, loud exhausts being receding up, also pedestrian noise) which lasted until just after 10pm. The balcony doors Do Not Lock- we had to keep them closed when sleeping.. this was a huge issue due to the horrible smoke filled room upon arrival(this is common with the poor venting of their fireplaces). We always request to have the large upholstered sitting chairs (we sit in front of the fire:TV and relax) and have them all the time. Even when the room has the terrible wooden arm chairs or tiny sitting upholder chairs that are completely un-usable.. who would sit in a chair like that to relax in front of a fireplace or TV. We had called the front desk and the lady declined to replace the chairs.. This is sad, we have been patronizing Spindrift Inn over 10 years and will be looking now at Pacific Grove, Carmel and Pebble Beach for future stays.. When you pay top $$$ for the comfort and personal attention you really would hope they pay attention.. over the years they have removed the towels in the bath, the bath powder, valets, well we sat in front for 5 mins before we walked in and the receptionist was just sitting behind the desk.. guess getting up of her chair to advise us there was no valet at the time was too strenuous.. Guess is just about the filling of the rooms, the all mighty $.

Over priced and don't really do much for the price expected more but the view was Awesome elevator did not work lights and power went out FOR price have not went back and stayed at Better that catered to me for the same price
