One of the Best Hotels In Monterey

We snagged a corner room on the fourth floor and had a beautiful view of Monterey Bay. We use the binoculars conveniently in the room for spotting dolphins, seals, and sea otters in the bay and were able to leave the windows cracked open in the evening and listen to the waves. It's one of the only places in this area where you can do that! This hotel is in an awesome location, with great views, and includes breakfast. We didn't try the fireplace but it's a really lovely touch. We'll probably be back!

The spindrift hotel was a lovely experience from beginning to the end. Our room was wonderful, paid for a cannery row view, they gave us the end room on the second floor which faces the ocean and the street. Very nice room, comfortable bed, and a real fireplace, with doors that opened out to the ocean breezes. Our stay was unfortunately too short, but we will go back. It was in walking distance of everything on Cannery Row.

I love this place. It’s small, cozy, beautiful and a pleasure to stay at. I do not have a negative thing to say. The staff make you feel like you’re staying at their house - - a VERY nice house. We had a real fire burning (not gas) while windows were open and the waves hit the shore. And, at high tide, the shore was just under our window If you want to creative amazing, romantic memories with that someone special, this is the place to go!!

Spent Thanksgiving at the Spindrift on Cannery Row. Had a beautiful room on the corner of the building with window seat views of both Monterey Bay and Cannery Row. The room was comfortable, clean and lovely. The staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the complimentary afternoon wine and cheese as well as the breakfasts delivered to our room each morning on a silver tray. The hotel is walking distance to the aquarium and the wharf.

As discerning hotel-goers, we were very pleasantly surprised at the exceptional quality of the Spindrift Inn. Pedro, at the front desk, was a gem as he was very warm and helped us with all our needs. The rooms are very clean, with high end amenities, fireplace is a breeze to use and the windows actually open so you can hear and smell the bay! The bed is super comfortable, hotel is quiet and the rooms quite spacious. All employees are very courteous and breakfast arrives on time and is plentiful and yummy enough to satisfy! Some past reviewers complained about the European charm aspect but after staying at many hotels in Europe, this one is definitely a high end replica. Everything worked well, there are many little touches that make it super comfortable and while not modern, it's not supposed to be since it's very charming, personable and quaint. Location can't be beat and neither can the value for what you get! Definitely recommend if you want a truly memorable experience!

My Husband and I stayed here one night in November. We LOVED it! We had a wonderful room overlooking the beach. Charming window-seat, nice fireplace, comfy, cozy bed - romantic all the way around. We had dinner at Sly's came back to the hotel and woke the next day to a beautiuful view and a nice breakfast. What a great escape!

This charming hotel is exactly as it appears in the photo. The employees are fantastic, the location is perfect. The breakfast could be considered a continental plus, order muffins their baker is fabulous. The bed was so comfortable, the fireplace topped it off. We stayed in an ocean view deluxe in 201(we did order last minute), this was a great room, and if it is the last one left take it for sure, the wall of the adjoining building is in view, in any of the other 5 ocean deluxe that wouldn't be the case. Wall included this was still a 5 because it was only minimally annoying, from the bed it didn't impede the view, just the bench seat on the side. Stay here!

This place was all we could hope for and we wished we had stayed longer. The room was lovely and the staff were incredibly kind and knowledgeable. The location was perfect for all that we wished to do while in Monterey.

Lovely hotel of the highest quality - excellent in all respects. If you want an ocean view you can choose it, but we preferred the town view from our balcony overlooking Cannery Row. Breakfast in bed (the only option for breakfast) was great fun, and with the log fire in the room blazing away it was a comfortable feeling. Indeed, a very romantic hotel for couples! (Not suitable for families!) Excellent staff and services.

We spent one night at the Spindrift. It is the perfect location to explore the area and it is on the beach. We were greeted with wine and cheese upon our arrival during their evening reception! The rooms are quaint and cozy. The fireplace was great for a chilly night. Breakfast and coffee were brought to our room at the time of our choice. Wish we stayed more than just one night!
