One of the Best Hotels In Monterey

The hotel is beautiful, our room felt like a luxurious cocoon with everything needed to not leave the room! We had oceanfront with the most incredible view and wood burning fireplace ❤️🙏 It was perfection. We had plans for a delicious seafood dinner in town but we couldn’t think of a reason why we’d leave that room so we ordered room service. The food was incredible, the service impeccable, we are already planning our next getaway! There is literally nothing we could say we would have wished were different. Never staying anywhere else in Monterey.

From the moment I pulled up out front until the moment I drove away everyone, front desk, valet, housekeeping, breakfast delivery, the gentleman pouring the wine each evening, seem truly invested in my having the most relaxing time of my life...and they succeeded. From my window seat in room 401, even the seals and otters came and provided entertainment.

This hotel was so beautiful and serene. They have a great beach and there are fireplaces in the rooms. Everyday there is a wine and cheese reception. Oceanfront room on second floor is ideal. We sat in our window seat and looked out as our fire cracked for hours. They even provide binoculars! Staff is friendly and helpful. Great location.

On a road trip from LA to San Francisco we chose Monterey as one of our overnight stops. I am so glad we booked Spindrift Inn. The room was magnificent ... we had a top floor corner room, it was huge, beautifully appointed and the windows .. wow .. opened fully and all we could see was ocean (and it was so nice to sleep with the windows open to hear the ocean noise lulling us to sleep). The bed was super comfy and it was just icing on the cake to light the fireplace and be able to sit around the fire. Definitely lived up to expectations and I hope I get the chance to stay here again one day.

From the moment we walked in, to the moment we checked out, the hotel staff where above and beyond friendly and helpful. The room was outstanding,clean, and had a cozy type feeling. The breakfast brought to our room Every morning was perfect. They have cheese and wine as well on a daily basis and that was a perfect way for us to start our evening site seeing and activity walks. All around our 2 night stay exceeded our expectations and we will be returning soon!

Lovely hotel along Cannery Row. Nice space with a working fireplace in the room that we had not seen before. Nice in-room breakfast and met lots of the other guests at the daily wine and cheese.. Great way to learn about the sites to see. The staff were very nice and very attentive to our needs

First visit. I did not think we would find a gem like this on Cannery Row. Second floor corner room with wood-burning fireplace. Super-romantic for our 25th anniversary. The room was well-appointed, the bed perfect, the service excellent. The wine and cheese happy-hour by the lobby fireplace was warmly inviting. The front desk was helpful with local recommendations. The view of sea otters 100 yards away eating off their tummies was enchanting. The rooftop terrace had an incredible view. This is out new escape from the Bay Area. Outstanding.

We love to stay on the top floor facing the bay. They have window seats and the windows really do open up so you can hear the waves lapping down below. You can watch the ships at night and hear their bell as the boats rock while fishing for squid that surface for the lights. Continental breakfast is included and delivered to the room right on time. Great dining within steps. If you are a diver, just walk in off the beach for some great diving. We love this place. Staff is friendly and helpful. Nothing like lighting the wood burning fireplace and opening a bottle of wine. Can't wait to return.

Great place staff is very friendly and helpful love the fire place in the room. They upgraded us to a ocean view and sent us a bottle of Champagne. The room was nice the bed was very comfortable we also enjoyed the wine and cheese in the evening sitting downstairs by the fireplace.

This place is exactly as advertised. I was quite pleased that the “king room ocean view” is actually dead center oceanfront (room 306), I’ve never stayed right on top of a beach before!! I also booked my reservation quite late, less than one week prior for a busy thanksgiving weekend so I was quite pleased that we got such a nice room. This past Saturday when we checked in, the hotel staff was having problems with their electronic key system so they actually couldn’t issue any keys until later that evening. However, we were always escorted up to our room and the staff always apologized for the inconvenience. I really didn’t mind, especially since they had such a nice complimentary wine reception in the lobby! Breakfast delivered to the room was also great, so getting the ocean view room is definitely worth it. Another reviewer mentioned that the room can smell of smoke even if you don’t use the fireplace, which is true. The smell was overwhelming at first, not sure if it’s coming from the restaurant next door or lingering from the fireplace from prior use. I can’t take off any stars though, I loved this room too much. I will be back soon!
