One of the Best Hotels In Monterey

We stay here every year because the location is perfect. It's a short walk to Monterrey Aquarium and an easy nice stroll along a footpath to Fishermans Wharf or to 17 mile drive. Don't miss the Tuesday farmers market near the town square. Spindrift has very friendly, cheerful and professional staff. Seaview rooms are the best option, on the top floor. You can sleep with the sound of the surf below your window. The morning in-room breakfast provides big pots of excellent coffee and continental style breakfast. And an afternoon happy hour with local wine and cheese tasting. There's a roof top deck for picnics and sun. If you are in need of a room before 4pm, you may need to use one of the bigger hotels. At the Spindrift, there’s no check in available until after 4pm. Room tip- Cannery Row can get noisy on the weekends with loud custom cars and motorcycles, so get a sea view room, better in the middle, not on a corner

I stayed at the Spindrift during my recent vacation and it was a perfect hotel for me! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and they hold a nightly happy hour in the lobby for guests. The room itself was perfect - comfortable but with great views of Cannery Row with a wrap around window seat and working fireplace. The hotel is centrally located on Cannery Row and a short walk to Fishermans Wharf. Would definitely stay here again on a trip to Monterey!

Myself and my husband stayed here for 2 nights whilst travelling California. It was my birthday while we were there and my daughter arranged a cake and champagne to be delivered to my room which was lovely. The room itself was beautiful old world charm with gorgeous views. The breakfast delivered to your room was lovely as we sat there watching the sea lions outside whilst eating our breakfast. We would love to visit here again.

My husband and I spent 4 days and 3 nights at the Spindrift Inn celebrating our 54 th anniversary. We’re so glad we picked here because we were treated sooo well and they helped make this a memorable anniversary. I would definitely recommend staying here as we plan to celebrate more anniversaries and maybe birthdays in the future. Thank you to all the staff.

What a wonderful Inn. Friendly staff with nice touches like a glass of wine & a cheese selection for you to help yourself every early evening. A breakfast selection that you stated what time you'd like it brought to your room. A really, really cosy room with a log fire (should you need to light it) Right in the middle of cannery Row. The sort of place I'd like to stay at in winter, so I could just cosy up in front of the fire either in reception or the room with a glass of wine & a good book

Beautiful and Romantic! I can not wait to go back! I did not want to leave our room with the gorgeous view! We slept with the windows open and the sound of the ocean was incredibly calming.

We have been staying at the Spindrift Inn for thirty years. We love the friendly staff, breathtaking ocean views, immaculate rooms, wood burning fireplace, exquisite furnishings, feather bed, down comforter, bathrobes, marble bathrooms, silver tray complimentary breakfast delivered to your room, complimentary wine and cheese served in the evening and roof garden with panoramic view. Thus, when planning what to do for our 50th wedding anniversary, we chose the Spindrift Inn. As always, we were welcomed by Stephanie at the front desk and had our best anniversary ever thanks to Randy Venard, VP and General Manager, Inns of Monterey. We try to visit several times a year. It’s a short walk to the Monterey Wharf and Monterey Bay Aquarium, as well as many fine restaurants on Cannery Row including the Sardine Factory and the Fish Hopper. We often walk to Lover’s Point and the Point Pinos Lighthouse in Garden Grove. We truly love the Spindrift Inn and recommend it highly.

You will sleep, deeply, entranced by the sounds of waves crashing on the shore. You'll awaken to the sounds of seabirds, calling you to get on with your day. You'll be in the heart of the action, while still maintaining Zen-level peacefulness. You'll turn on the fireplace to warm yourself while the cool night breeze refreshes and clears the mind. You'll find romance again, and never want to leave. Stay here...and ask for room 105 or 106.

Lovely hotel in a very good location. Rooms are very well furnished and comfortable. Breakfast is brought to your room every morning, beautifully laid out on a silver tray. Our room had a balcony overlooking Cannery Row and we could sit there to eat breakfast. The hotel has a wine and cheese reception every afternoon which is a good time to talk with other guests. Everything was really excellent

We reserved an oceanfront room. The view was spectacular! We could hear every wave, the seagull, smell the ocean and watch the activity on the water. My husband is on the last days on his journey of life. I notified the hotel of his visual and hearing impairments, along with the fact that he cannot walk on the beach therefore we wanted to be as close to that as possible. When we arrived, not only did they decorate the room with rose petals, balloons and sparkling cider, but a pair of binoculars for my husband to see through! The breakfast was included and nicly done. This saves you from having to go anywhere for coffee after waking up. There are breads, boiled eggs, fruits and cereal to have as well. The ADA room had a large seat that lowered from the shower wall, and a special mobil hand held shower head at seated level. I could go on and on, however I'd never do enough justice. Rosie decorated our room and happily brought our breakfast each day. She was so thoughtful. Stephanie, front desk manager, found out we'd ordered coffee from room service one afternoon and decided to brew us a pot herself and bring it up. That saved us the cost of the room service, but also showed a kindness that cannot be faked. Everyone was very friendly and made sure to say hello, goodbye or how was your outing. We felt like family. Thank you to all.
