The Spindrift Inn is an absolute must if you are staying in Monterey. This is our all time favorite hotel and we continue to come back as often as possible. The hotel is situated on a sandy beach and the rooms are all first class with premier bedding and robes, plenty of room to sit by the fireplace or along the large window seat overlooking either the ocean or Cannery Row (either side is wonderful).
We had a great stay at the Spindrift Inn. Our room had a large wraparound balcony which gave us views of the street and the beach. When we arrived, we were greeted by a bottle of wine and chocolates to congratulate us on our marriage - nice touch. The wine and cheese in the evenings is a lovely idea. The room itself was very comfortable, quiet and decorated in a lovely, neutral way. The fireplace in the room was lovely. It could not be in a more central location - we would definitely return!
We stayed for one night and had an amazing room looking over the beach....fabulous. Very quiet room too. Staff were fantastic with customer service.
My wife and I have stayed at the Spindrift many times over the past dozen years or so. We visit the Monterey Bay area often and have stayed at other locations in the area, including Carmel. The Spindrift is the most comfortable and romantic of the all we have tried.
We only stayed the one night and wish we could have stayed longer. We had 2 rooms one with a stunning view over the ocean and the other over looking Cannery Row. Both rooms were beautifully decorated with little touches of luxury. both had open fireplaces (which would be lovely in the Winter) with large comfy winged chairs and padded window seats, great to people watch or read a book.
