Located in the heart of Monterey, California, Cannery Row is a popular waterfront street that was the scene for many of John Steinbeck’s most beloved novels.

Cannery Row was once the center of Monterey’s bustling sardine canning industry, but today the ocean waters surrounding Monterey are a designated National Marine Sanctuary, and are home to a group of California Sea Lions, as well as the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Cannery Row itself is now a popular tourist attraction offering a variety of restaurants, hotels, gift shops, attractions, and several historical monuments..

Monterey Bay Aquarium. Located at the north end of Monterey’s famous Cannery Row, the popular Monterey Bay Aquarium is a non-profit aquarium dedicated to marine education, research and preservation. The popular aquarium inspires visitors with fabulous marine tanks and hands-on exhibits that include live sharks, an awe-inspiring kelp forest, live otters, mysterious jellyfish, activities for children, and much more.
